About the Role
This role will be mainly responsible in ensuring that Iron Ore accounting activities are performed in a timely, accurate & efficient manner and in accordance with Group and International Accounting standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
Ensuring day to day general ledger accounting activities are performed in a timely manner.
Execute Accounting and Reporting processes timely and effectively, ensuring operational discipline and strict adherence to internal accounting guidelines and controls.
Execute Joint venture queries timely and effectively, ensuring operational discipline and strict adherence to joint venture agreements.
Review and reconciliation of relevant general ledgers balances to ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
Preparation of briefing papers and Stewardship Review at financial reporting dates.
Identify & implement process improvement opportunities.




Continuously update process documentation to reflect latest processes.
Contribute to and support global process standardisation and continuous improvement.
Assist with analysis and query resolution as appropriate.
Other tasks as directed by management.
About You
Tertiary qualification in Accounting
CA / CPA / ACCA (equivalent) or progressing towards would be an advantage
With significant years of relevant work experience
Proficiency with MS Excel and have had exposure working with SAP
Demonstrated experience in the resources industry and a strong understanding of financial accounting concepts and processes, preferably in a mining environment
