Are you a qualified Pump Fitter looking for stable, local work, strong overtime opportunities and the chance to work from a brand-new, state-of-the-art workshop?
Challenge Pumps is an established and growing Australian manufacturer and supplier of specialised dewatering pumps and pump systems used throughout the mining industry.
We are looking for an experienced Pump Fitter to join our Kewdale workshop team.
This is a permanent, hands-on role focused on pump assembly.
Previous pump experience is highly regarded, but it is not essential.
Fitters with experience in mechanical assembly, rotating equipment, hydraulics, fixed plant, heavy equipment or similar industries are encouraged to apply.

About the RoleYour work will include:
Assembling dewatering pumps and associated mechanical components
Building complete pump systems for mining and industrial customers
Fitting pipework, valves, hoses and related equipment




Conducting hydrostatic pressure testing
Reading drawings, specifications and work instructions
Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
Using workshop lifting equipment to safely move pumps and components
Assisting with other workshop activities when reasonably required
Maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping
This is a varied workshop position where you will work on both individual pump components and complete engineered systems in a modern, purpose-built facility.
About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:
A recognised Mechanical Fitter, Fitter and Turner or equivalent trade qualification
Previous experience in mechanical fitting, assembly or heavy equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills
Experience fitting pipework, valves or associated components
Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
The ability to work effectively within a small workshop team
A proactive attitude and strong commitment to workplace safety
A current driver's licence and reliable transport
A current forklift licence
The following will be highly regarded:
Previous pump or rotating-equipment experience
A current dogging licence
Experience working with mining, industrial or fixed-plant equipment
Candidates who do not currently hold a dogging licence may still be considered where they have the right trade background and experience.
