Great Barrier Reef Scenic Flights is looking for an experienced, motivated and outgoing Media & Marketing professional based in Cairns to join our team and help take our brand to the next level.
This is a Cairns-based role, with the flexibility to work from home while regularly getting out into the Cairns community to meet with tourism retailers, travel agents, hotels, tour operators and other industry partners.
You will have the freedom to work autonomously, manage your own schedule and take ownership of growing our presence across the Cairns tourism industry and Australia-wide travel network.
About the Role
You will play a key role in increasing bookings and brand awareness by building strong relationships with tourism businesses, retailers and travel agents.
Your responsibilities will include:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with Cairns-based tourism retailers, hotels, travel agents, tour operators and businesses.
Regularly getting out into the Cairns community to promote Great Barrier Reef Scenic Flights.
Visiting retailers and tourism businesses to build relationships and secure promotional opportunities.
Negotiating deals and partnerships with local retailers and tourism businesses.
Developing relationships with travel agents and tourism partners across Cairns and Australia-wide.
Working with local and national agents to increase referrals and bring more customers through the door.




Distributing brochures and promotional materials throughout Cairns and the wider tourism network.
Managing and developing marketing materials and promotional campaigns.
Managing our social media presence and creating engaging content.
Growing our online presence and working with SEO companies and digital marketing specialists.
Identifying new marketing opportunities, partnerships and sales channels.
Representing the Great Barrier Reef Scenic Flights brand professionally throughout the Cairns tourism industry.
Taking initiative and developing new ideas to grow the business.
About You
We are looking for someone who has experience in media, marketing, tourism, sales or a related field and understands how to build relationships and generate business.
You will ideally be:
Cairns based and familiar with the local tourism industry.
Highly motivated and able to work autonomously.
Confident communicating with business owners, retailers, hotels and travel agents.
Outgoing, personable and professional.
Experienced in marketing and social media.
Comfortable negotiating deals and building commercial partnerships.
Organised and able to manage your own workload.
Creative and confident developing marketing ideas and content.
Comfortable working with SEO companies and digital marketing professionals.




Proactive and willing to get out into the Cairns community and make things happen.
Results-driven, with a genuine desire to grow a brand and increase bookings.
Experienced in the Cairns tourism industry or broader Australian tourism industry (highly regarded).
What We Offer
$70,000–$90,000 PA, depending on experience and the right candidate.
