At Aussie Early Learning, our Assistant Director (2IC) / Room Leader is a hands-on, visible leader who works alongside the team and builds solid relationships through professional trust, support and collaboration.
You'll work closely with the Service Manager to help keep the service running smoothly, supporting compliance, strengthening educational practice and empowering educators to feel confident in their roles.
Success in this position is reflected in a team that feels supported, inspired and valued.
You'll lead your room team, support programming and documentation, encourage reflective practice, maintain engaging learning environments and ensure children receive meaningful, responsive and developmentally appropriate experiences.
You'll bring energy, creativity and a genuine passion for children, leading by example and creating a safe, inclusive and joyful environment where children can learn, explore and thrive.
You'll be supported by the Aussie Early Learning leadership team through regular check-ins, mentoring and professional conversations to help you grow in your role and build your leadership confidence.

What You Will NeedTo be successful in this role, you will need:




Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent approved qualification)
Minimum 1 year experience in an early childhood education and care setting
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current Child Protection Training
National Child Safe Organisation Training – Certificates 1 & 2
Current Mandatory Reporting Training
IM Alert and Allergy Awareness Training
A supportive, positive and can-do attitude
A genuine passion for working with children and supporting educators
Strong communication, teamwork and leadership skills
A willingness to lead by example and contribute positively to the Aussie Early Learning team
