Bravus Mining and Resources' Carmichael mine is an open cut thermal coal mine in the North Galilee Basin, approximately 160 kilometres northwest of the town of Clermont.
Carmichael produces more than 12 million tonnes of thermal coal for the export market each year.
More than **** people are engaged in permanent roles at Carmichael and workers travel to site on direct flights from Townsville, Rockhampton, Cairns, or Mackay (a flight time of approximately 55 minutes).
Those team members who live in the Isaac region have the option to drive-in and drive-out with individual travel and fatigue management plans in place.

About the role Reporting to the Superintendent - Integrated Planning, this position provides technical expertise across short, medium and long-term mine planning while supporting production performance, budgeting, stakeholder engagement and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities Lead short, medium and long-term mine planning, scheduling and mine design activities.
Provide technical advice and engineering support to operations and planning teams.
Develop drilling and blasting plans and monitor production performance against plan.
Analyse mining methods, equipment performance and operational data to identify optimisation opportunities.
Prepare monthly progress claims and support budget and forecasting activities.
Track and report operational, production and commercial KPIs.
Build robust relationships with operational teams and stakeholders to achieve planned outcomes.
Mentor and develop team members while promoting a high-performance culture.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across mining and planning functions.
About You Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or Civil preferred) with experience in open-cut coal mining operations.
Strong mine planning, scheduling and mine design experience using Vulcan, Deswik, Spry or similar software.
Demonstrated ability to optimise production outcomes through technical analysis and planning.
Commercially minded, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
Proven leadership capability with experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
Current Standard 11, Queensland Coal Board Medical and Queensland Class C Driver Licence.
