Job Reference: *******About the RoleCurtin University is seeking a passionate and motivated Horticulturalist to join our Parks & Resource Recovery team.
If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in creating attractive public spaces and want to contribute to an environment used by thousands of students, staff and visitors every day, we'd love to hear from you.Working across our vibrant Bentley campus, you'll play an important role in maintaining and enhancing Curtin's award-winning grounds, gardens and landscapes while working alongside an experienced and supportive team.Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Gardens, you'll be responsible for delivering a wide range of horticultural services to ensure the University's grounds remain secure, attractive and maintained to a high standard.Your responsibilities will includeMaintaining landscaped gardens, lawns and public spaces across campusPlanting, pruning, mulching, and fertilising garden bedsMinor tree works using chainsaws and pole sawsWeed control, including chemical applicationsLandscape construction and enhancement workMaintaining ponds, waterways and associated infrastructureOperating, servicing and maintaining horticultural machinery and equipmentCompleting maintenance records and safety documentationWorking safely and contributing to a positive team cultureSelection CriteriaWe're looking for someone who enjoys practical outdoor work, takes pride in delivering high-quality outcomes and works well both independently and as part of a team.To be successful you'll have:Certificate III in Horticulture or equivalent experienceExperience maintaining gardens and landscaped environmentsExperience operating and maintaining horticultural machinery and equipmentKnowledge of weeds,



pests, chemicals and horticultural practicesStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a busy environmentCurrent C Class Driver's Licence and White CardPrevious experience working within a large or complex organisation will be highly regarded.Role RequirementsAs this is a continuing (permanent) role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be consideredSuccessful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin's satisfactionProperties, Facilities & Development - Your new teamProperties, Facilities & Development (PF&D;) plays an important role in ensuring Curtin's physical presence enables ongoing transformation and supports the University's vision to be a recognised global leader in research, education and engagement.
