The Position
AlburyCity is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking leader to take on the newly expanded role of Service Leader Strategy, Performance & Assurance.
This pivotal leadership position brings together corporate strategy, governance, performance, risk, integrity and assurance functions into a single integrated portfolio, strengthening organisational oversight, accountability and continuous improvement across Council.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO Business Growth & Community and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Council and Change Leadership Team, this role will provide strategic leadership and trusted advice to ensure high organisational performance, ethical governance and compliance with legislative requirements while supporting the delivery of Council's long-term vision for our community.
Tasks and responsibilities
Lead the Strategy, Performance & Assurance portfolio, driving integrated planning, governance, risk and assurance outcomes aligned to Council's strategic objectives.
Provide expert strategic advice to Council, the Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders on governance, performance, risk, integrity and compliance matters.
Oversee Council's governance and integrity functions,



including Council and committee operations, Code of Conduct administration, Public Interest Disclosures and legislative compliance.
Lead enterprise-wide risk management, assurance and audit programs, including oversight of internal audit, external audit activities and the Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).
Drive corporate strategy, Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R;), organisational performance monitoring and reporting frameworks.
Champion business improvement, innovation and organisational change initiatives that enhance efficiency, accountability and service delivery.
Develop and lead a high-performing, collaborative team while building organisational capability in governance, risk, assurance and performance disciplines.
Foster strong relationships with Council, executive leaders, staff and external stakeholders to deliver transparent, customer-focused and community-centred outcomes.
Qualifications and experience
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Governance, Risk, Finance, Law or related discipline.
Significant senior leadership experience across governance, strategy, performance or assurance functions.
Highly developed strategic thinking,



analytical and communication skills.
