About the Opportunity

WesTrac is seeking a proactive Purchasing Officer to join our team. Based at Tomago, this full-time Monday to Friday position offers the opportunity to play a key role in purchasing, expediting and supplier performance activities within a national procurement function.

As a Purchasing Officer within our Procurement team, you will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and productive procurement of goods and services that support business operations across the business.

Reporting to the National Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for transactional purchasing activities, managing overdue orders, coordinating supplier non-conformance processes and supporting internal stakeholders with procurement-related enquiries. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers alike.

Key responsibilities

Prepare, process and manage purchase orders in line with business requirements and procurement policies

Monitor and expedite overdue purchase orders to ensure critical operational and machine build requirements are met

Coordinate supplier non-conformance reports (NCRs), including root cause investigations, corrective actions and stakeholder communication

Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on procurement processes, purchase orders and supplier-related queries.

Maintain supplier and purchasing master data, ensuring accuracy, integrity and consistency across systems

Utilise SAP and Ariba systems to manage procurement transactions, supplier information and reporting activities

Skills and Experience

Experience in a purchasing, procurement or similar supply chain role

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and enterprise procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba





Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines

Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also operating effectively with a high degree of autonomy
