Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. We are seeking a proactive Bookings Officer to play a key role in ensuring patients are scheduled efficiently and treated as quickly as possible. This role will support effective waitlist management by coordinating and booking patients in line with Ministry of Health (MoH) guidelines. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring patients move through the system smoothly and receive the care they need without unnecessary delays.





The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing patient appointment scheduling, maintaining accurate patient records, and providing a welcoming and qualified point of contact for patients, clinicians and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure bookings are accurate, timely and aligned with service requirements while maintaining confidentiality.

What you will bring to the role * Previous experience in hospital Front line services and or health care systems, with demonstrated commitment to Quality and patient focused services.

- Well-developed interpersonal skills including ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, managers and staff both verbally and written.
- Demonstrate ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate ability to problem solving, decision making and negotiating skills in a high pressured busy and demanding environment.
- Proficient understanding and use of Medical Terminology.
- Demonstrated computer literacy including efficient keyboard and data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail. Show an ability to maintain electronic and hard copy documents / data bases.
- Proficient use of Patient Administration Systems and understanding of NSW Ministry of Health policy and procedures relating to Waitlist Management.
