About the Role

/n

Reporting to the Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of excavators across a variety of civil construction projects.

/n

This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with supervisors, leading hands and ground crews to complete excavation works safely, efficiently to a high standard and assisting site crews with general labouring duties when required.

/n

You will be responsible for carrying out excavation activities while maintaining Civil Plus' commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance.

/n

Key Responsibilities

/n

Safely operate excavators across a range of civil construction projects.

/n

Complete bulk earthworks, detailed excavation, trenching and drainage works.

/n

Assist with excavation around underground services and existing infrastructure.

/n

Perform final trim and detailed excavation where required.

/n





Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks.

/n

Work safely around other plant, personnel and live work environments.

/n

Read and interpret construction plans and site instructions.

/n

Work closely with site supervisors and ground crews to achieve project objectives.

/n

Maintain plant in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.

/n

Comply with all company Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

/n

Assist with general site duties when required.

/n

About You

/n

We're looking for a reliable and safety-conscious operator who enjoys working in a team environment and takes pride in producing quality work.

/n

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

/n

Proven experience operating excavators within the civil construction industry.

/n

Experience with bulk earthworks, trenching and detailed excavation.

/n

Strong understanding of protected excavation practices.

/n

Ability to work around underground services and confined work areas.

/n

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

/n

Strong commitment to workplace safety.

/n

Good time management and organisational skills.

/n

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

/n

Current Driver Licence.

/n





Construction White Card.

/n

Excavator Operator competency/ticket (RII or equivalent).

/n

Demonstrated experience operating excavators in the civil construction industry.

/n

Ability to work safely and efficiently.

/n

Willingness to work on regional and remote projects when required.

/n

HR Driver Licence.

/n

Experience operating additional civil plant such as Dozers, Loaders, Rollers, Skid Steers or Water Carts.

/n

Dogman, Rigging, Working at Heights or Confined Space tickets.

/n

First Aid Certificate.

/n

Experience working on Civil & Marine Infrastructure projects.
