Since opening our doors in February 2022, Cognoscenti Food & Wine has grown from a small neighbourhood restaurant into one of the Dandenong Ranges' most respected dining destinations. We've built a loyal following of local regulars while welcoming guests from across Melbourne who visit us for thoughtful food, warm hospitality and one of the region's most exciting wine lists.

Following the renovation and expansion of the restaurant, we're now operating seven days a week and are busier than ever. As we continue to grow, we're looking to welcome a passionate Floor Supervisor to our team.

We're looking for someone who genuinely loves hospitality, thrives in a busy service environment, leads by example, and understands that great leadership starts with looking after both your team and your guests.

About the role

/n

As Floor Supervisor, you'll be responsible for leading shifts while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the restaurant. This is a hands-on role where you'll work across both the floor and bar, alongside the owners and Restaurant Manager, to deliver the genuine hospitality and high standards Cognoscenti is known for.

Your responsibilities will include:

/n

- Leading dinner service alongside the owners and Restaurant Manager

/n

- Managing your own section while delivering exceptional, attentive service

/n

- Supervising and supporting the Front of House team during service

/n

- Ensuring every guest enjoys a warm and memorable dining experience

/n

- Assisting with staff training and development

/n

- Opening and closing the restaurant

/n





- Maintaining high standards of presentation, service and cleanliness

/n

- Working closely with the kitchen to ensure seamless service

/n/n

What we are looking for

- Previous experience in a supervisory or senior waitstaff role

/n

- A genuine passion for hospitality and guest experience

/n

- A confident leader who enjoys working alongside their team

/n

- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to lead by example

/n

- Someone who takes pride in their work and genuinely cares about creating memorable guest experiences

/n

- Excellent communication and organisational skills

/n

- High attention to detail and professional presentation

/n

- Wine knowledge is highly regarded (or a willingness to continue learning)

/n

- Availability to work evenings and weekends is essential

/n/n
