Please note: This position is NOT under the VPS Enterprise Agreement. The successful candidate will be appointed under the Electoral Act 2002 for state elections and under the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations 2020 for council elections. The pay and conditions for this role, are set out under the VEC's Election Staff Remuneration and Allowance Framework.

Interviews will be conducted the week commencing 14 September, with training for successful candidates undertaken in late September / October 2026.

What you will be doing

You will help ensure voting centres across your district have the materials, equipment and resources they need to operate successfully. Working as part of a hub logistics team, you will support the movement,



tracking and management of election materials that are critical to delivering a secure and trusted election.

You do not need previous election experience. We will train you on electoral processes, systems and procedures. We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and enjoys working as part of a team in a fast-paced operational setting.

Day to day, you will:

- Prepare, distribute and track election materials and equipment for voting centres across your district
- Support the secure handling, movement and reconciliation of ballot papers and other sensitive electoral materials
- Assist with inventory management and maintain accurate records of election resources
- Coordinate the allocation, collection and tracking of laptops and other election equipment
- Support the preparation of resources for early voting, mobile voting and election day voting centres
- Follow established procedures to ensure election materials remain secure and accurately recorded
- Work closely with hub teams to resolve operational issues and respond to changing priorities
- Assist with the return, storage and pack-down of election materials following election events

During a state election, activity levels increase quickly. As part of a small logistics team, you will help ensure election materials are delivered where and when they are needed, supporting the smooth operation of voting centres across your district.

What you will bring to the role

- Experience in administration, logistics, warehousing, inventory management or operational support
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records




- A reliable and methodical approach when working with processes and procedures
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Sound judgement and the ability to identify and escalate issues when required
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and learning new systems
- A commitment to integrity, professionalism and the secure handling of sensitive materials

Additional requirements:

A current driver's licence and confidence driving a 1-tonne van

This role involves moving election materials and equipment, operating in a warehouse-style environment, and working extended or irregular hours during peak election periods.
