City of Moreton Bay is on the search for this brand new policy role to support our Mayor. This role is one of our newly created opportunities established to strengthen support for our Mayor and Councillors and help them deliver meaningful outcomes for the communities they represent.

This role will see you work closely with our Mayor, providing high level strategic and policy advice directly to support informed decision-making and effective leadership of the City.

You will oversee emerging local, regional, state and federal issues, coordinate strategic advice and briefing material, and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the Mayor is appropriately briefed and positioned on key issues affecting the City and beyond.

- Full-time |appointment through to early 2028
- $123k - $130k pa +12% superannuation (Level 7)
- Locations: Strathpine / Caboolture / Redcliffe

About You

You are an experienced policy, government relations, advocacy or strategic planning professional with a demonstrated ability to provide trusted advice to senior leaders, elected representatives and decision-makers on complex and sensitive issues.

You will also bring:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality briefing notes, reports, correspondence, speeches and executive advice.
- Robust research, analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of developing evidence-based recommendations.
- A strategic mindset and the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical and actionable advice.
- High levels of political acumen, professionalism and discretion when managing sensitive, confidential or contentious matters.
- Knowledge of,



or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, local government legislation, governance frameworks, government processes and the broader political landscape.
