- Create engaging content across multiple digital channels
- Influence reputation through strategic digital communications

V/Line’s purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport – connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

V/Line is experiencing significant growth and we’re delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects. With more than 3,700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3,100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a highly strategic social media role where you'll do far more than manage day-to-day content. Working within the Communications and Customer Experience team, you'll lead and drive V/Line's social media strategy, helping shape how one of Victoria's most recognised public organisations engages with passengers, communities and stakeholders across digital channels.

We're looking for someone who can pick up an existing strategy, critically assess opportunities, provide expert advice, and drive meaningful outcomes. You'll partner closely with internal stakeholders, analyse performance data, identify emerging trends and recommend the most effective channels and approaches to strengthen engagement, reputation and community sentiment. This is a role for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You'll also create compelling content that tells the stories of V/Line and its people. Whether it's developing social campaigns, producing engaging social content, capturing video and photography,

or identifying opportunities to showcase achievements across the network, you'll play a key role in building V/Line's digital presence and reputation.

About You

You're a strategic digital communications professional with a proven ability to develop and deliver social media strategies that achieve measurable outcomes. You enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands-on content creation and are confident providing advice to stakeholders at all levels. You understand how audiences engage online, know how to use data to inform decisions, and have a passion for creating content that connects with communities and builds trust.

Your background includes:

- Experience developing and executing social media or digital engagement strategies.
- Strong knowledge of social platform trends, algorithms and best-practice content formats.
- Experience managing online communities, moderation and social listening activities.
- Advanced content creation skills across written, video, photography and visual channels.
- Strong analytical capability, using metrics and insights to optimise performance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to provide trusted strategic advice.
- Experience working in government, a ministerial office, or another highly regulated environment.

If your skills or experience don’t exactly match our listed requirements, we still encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and believe in the potential for growth and development.
