Searson Buck is currently seeking a Profile Machine Operator / Trades Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing and fabrication business based in Kingston. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with workshop experience who enjoys hands-on work, operating machinery and supporting a skilled fabrication team.

About the Role In this role, you'll be responsible for operating profile cutting equipment, assisting tradespeople and helping ensure workshop operations run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate plasma and oxy-fuel profile cutting machinery
- Program and monitor profile cutting equipment
- Perform routine machine maintenance
- Load, unload and move materials using forklifts and overhead cranes
- Assist boilermakers, welders and other trades personnel
- Complete material traceability and production records
- Operate hand and power tools
- Prepare components for transport and dispatch
- Maintain workshop housekeeping and safety standards




- General yard and labouring duties as required

What We're Looking For Essential
- Current Forklift Licence
- Experience in a manufacturing, workshop or fabrication environment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Materials handling experience
- Basic computer skills
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

Highly Regarded
- Experience operating CNC, plasma or profile cutting machinery
- Gantry crane experience
- Engineering, steel fabrication or metal industry exposure
