Hays is partnering with a large, complex organisation seeking an experienced Senior Director to lead industrial relations strategy and provide expert advice on high-profile workforce matters.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an industrial relations specialist who can operate confidently at executive level, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and drive enterprise-wide industrial outcomes.
The OpportunityReporting within a People & Culture function, you will lead a team of HR professionals while providing strategic industrial relations leadership across a large and diverse workforce. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing employment frameworks, leading enterprise bargaining activity, managing complex industrial matters, and building productive relationships with unions and senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver industrial relations strategy across the organisation.
- Develop, negotiate and implement enterprise agreements and employment framework initiatives.
- Provide high-level advice on industrial and employee relations matters, legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
- Consult and negotiate with unions, employee representatives and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare complex briefs, executive correspondence and industrial relations submissions.
- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals while driving continuous improvement and strategic outcomes.
What We're Looking ForTo be successful, you'll demonstrate:
- Significant experience leading enterprise bargaining and collective agreement negotiations in a complex public sector or highly unionised environment.
- Deep expertise across industrial relations, employee relations, awards and enterprise agreements.
- Robust stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior executives, employees and unions.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication and influencing capability.
- The ability to analyse complex information, provide defensible advice and make sound strategic decisions.
- Experience leading teams and driving organisational outcomes in a changing environment.
