Tangalooma Island Resort is seeking an experienced Plumber and Gas Fitter to join our Maintenance team on a full-time basis. Based at our stunning island location on Moreton Island, this role is essential to maintaining the high standards of comfort and safety our guests and staff experience across the resort. You will be responsible for all plumbing and gas fitting works, ensuring our facilities operate seamlessly and comply with all relevant regulations and codes of practice.

About the role

- Installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining plumbing systems throughout the resort, including water supply lines, drainage systems, and fixtures in guest accommodations, commercial kitchens and facilities

- Performing gas fitting work, including the installation, maintenance and repair of gas appliances, lines and safety systems in compliance with Australian Standards. Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults.

- Conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all plumbing and gas systems to identify potential issues before they become problems and responding to emergency calls to minimise disruption to resort operations and guest experience

- Maintaining accurate records of all work completed, materials used and maintenance schedules

- Liaising with other maintenance staff, resort management and external contractors to coordinate works and ensure project completion





- Adhering to all health and safety regulations, workplace policies and best practice standards in the trades

Selection Criteria

- Relevant qualifications and licenses as a plumber and gas fitter, with current registration or certification in Queensland essential

- Minimum 3-5 years' practical experience in plumbing and gas fitting work, ideally in a hospitality or resort environment

- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes and regulations relevant to plumbing and gas fitting

- Strong technical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex plumbing and gas system issues

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic workplace with strong communication skills

- Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, bending and lifting

- Full working rights in Australia and ability to commit to single live-on conditions in a remote setting
