The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Structural Steel Estimator with a strong background in project delivery? Work locally in Pakenham with a growing steel fabrication and construction company, taking full end-to-end ownership of projects from initial tender right through to site completion—no daily commute into the Melbourne CBD required.

What You Will Be Doing
In this hybrid role, you will win the work and deliver it. You will own the full project lifecycle, serving as the Estimator through the tender phase and transitioning into the Project Manager once the job is awarded.

Estimating & Tendering:

- Read and interpret complex architectural and structural engineering drawings.
- Perform accurate material take-offs and generate Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Estimate costs for steel fabrication, surface treatments, transport, and site erection.
- Prepare and submit winning tender proposals.

Project Management & Delivery:

- Manage awarded projects end-to-end, ensuring safety, budget compliance, and schedule milestones.
- Coordinate workshop fabrication timelines, material deliveries, and site erection crews.
- Manage variations, progress claims, RFIs, and project financial reporting.
- Act as the primary point of contact for builders, engineers, site managers,



and subcontractors.

About You

- Proven experience in Project Management within the structural steel or fabrication industry is essential.
- Demonstrated track record in structural steel estimating, take-offs, and tender preparation.
- Strong technical ability to read and interpret complex structural drawings and specs.
- Proficiency with estimating and scheduling tools (e.g., Tekla, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel).
- Exceptional communication, variation negotiation, and client management skills.
