Mascot Medical and Dental Centre is a busy, privately owned large general medical practice in the heart of the Mascot shopping strip. The clinic has been serving the community since 1989 and has a very large and loyal following. We are passionate about providing quality health care to our patients.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated medical receptionist to join our friendly team to work Monday - Friday.

You must have excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to work under pressure in a busy clinic and be able to multitask.

The ideal person will have:

Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist in a large busy medical centre

Experience with Medicare, HiCaps and private billings

Ability to multi task and perform under pressure with strong attention to detail

Excellent customer service skills and effective interpersonal skills

Honest, reliable and a strong team player





Able to work permanently in Australia without time limitations or visa restrictions

Key Responsibilities include:

Answer telephone calls, check voice mails, schedule appointments, process patient billings

Take payment, manage claims to Medicare and DVA, processing of workers compensation claims

Liaise with patients GPs and other health professionals in a qualified manner

Perform specific duties as required by doctors (e.g. collecting refreshments and lunch)

Ensure consulting rooms are stocked and remain neat and tidy throughout the day

Contribute equitably to maintaining the cleanliness of the practice (including reception area, waiting room, doctors rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and front and back exterior areas )

Other administrative duties as deemed necessary for the running of the practice as directed by the Practice Manager
