The Gates Hotel is seeking enthusiastic and professional Waitstaff to join our dynamic hospitality team on a casual basis. Based in Adamstown NSW, this role is fundamental to delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a member of our front-of-house team, you will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable interactions and ensuring every guest leaves satisfied. This is a casual position that offers flexibility alongside the opportunity to be part of a vibrant hospitality setting.

What you'll be doing

- Greeting guests warmly upon arrival and seating them appropriately according to restaurant procedures
- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and communicating special requests to the kitchen
- Serving meals and drinks promptly and courteously, ensuring all items are delivered to the correct guests
- Maintaining impeccable table presentation throughout the dining experience, including clearing plates and resetting tables between courses
- Processing payments and handling cash or card transactions with accuracy and professionalism
- Responding to guest inquiries and requests with a friendly demeanour, addressing any concerns promptly
- Working collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow
- Adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Assisting with general restaurant setup and breakdown as required
- Contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages guests to return

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as waiting staff in a restaurant or hospitality setting, or relevant hospitality training




- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with diverse guests
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible approach to working hours
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards and etiquette
- Ability to remain calm and composed during peak service periods
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and carry trays safely
- Willingness to learn and develop skills within a supportive team environment
