Impact of the organisation
Cure Cancer is dedicated to funding early career cancer researchers working across all cancer types, backing research with the greatest potential to save lives and change the future of cancer treatment.
To date, Cure Cancer has raised more than $75 million and funded over 580 research grants, helping talented researchers pursue innovative ideas and build the foundations for the next generation of cancer breakthroughs.
Impact you will have in this role
As Operations Manager, you will play a central role in keeping Cure Cancer running smoothly, effectively and efficiently.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a trusted operational partner to the organisation, taking ownership of day-to-day administration and providing essential support across finance, research grants, fundraising, office operations and executive activities.
This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys bringing structure to a busy environment, improving processes and making sure the details are taken care of.
Your contribution will enable the broader Cure Cancer team to focus on what matters most - raising funds and supporting the researchers working to change the future of cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Administration
- Coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of Cure Cancer
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of administrative systems, processes and procedures
- Manage incoming enquiries, telephone calls, mail and couriers
- Coordinate office supplies, equipment, facilities and external service providers
- Maintain accurate organisational records,
filing systems and administrative processes
Finance & Accounts Administration
- Undertake routine financial administration, including data entry, processing and reconciliation activities
- Import and export financial information to support accurate record keeping and reporting
- Prepare and maintain information required for Xero
- Work with the bookkeeper to undertake routine banking reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
- Coordinate financial documentation between Cure Cancer and its external accountants
- Ensure invoices, receipts and supporting documentation are managed in accordance with internal approval processes
Grants Administration
- Coordinate administrative processes supporting Cure Cancer’s research grants program
- Issue, track and maintain grant agreements and associated documentation
- Monitor reporting deadlines and follow up grant recipients when required
- Respond to general grant-related enquiries and correspondence
- Maintain accurate and accessible grant records and filing systems
Fundraising Administration
- Support donor administration, including receipting and record management
- Coordinate donor correspondence and fundraising materials
- Assist with the fulfilment and distribution of donor incentives and supporter communications
- Provide administrative support across fundraising campaigns and activities
Board & Executive Support
- Provide administrative support to the CEO, including diary and meeting coordination
- Assist with correspondence,
document preparation and other executive administration
- Coordinate travel, appointments and meeting logistics
- Support the preparation and collation of board and committee papers
About You
You are a highly organised and dependable operations skilled who enjoys being at the centre of an organisation and making things work well.
Comfortable balancing competing priorities, you combine strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and take ownership of your responsibilities.
You will bring
- Demonstrated experience in administration, operations coordination or a similar role
- Experience with accounts administration and financial processing
- Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM
- Experience with accounting systems and a strong understanding of Excel
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business systems
- The ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
