This role sits within thenewly formedEvangelism and Ministry Partnerships(EMP) divisionof theDiocese, which exists to support and strengthen gospel ministry across the Diocese. Through collaboration,innovationand service, EMPseeksto multiply Christians, multiply churches, multiply gospelworkersand multiply gospel witness.

The Media and Communications team plays a vital role in telling the stories of our Diocese, sharing news and resources, strengthening engagement across our fellowship, and helping communicate the hope of Christ to the wider community.

About the role

We areseekingan experienced and strategic communications leader to serve as our Director of Media and Communications.

Reporting to the Head ofEMP, you will lead the Diocese's media and communications function, developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the mission and goals of Sydney Anglicans.

Leading a team of content creators and communications professionals, you will oversee the development of compelling content,providestrategic communications advice, support key public relations activities, strengthen internal and external communications, and ensure consistent branding across the Diocese.

This is a unique opportunity to combine senior communicationsexpertisewith gospel ministry, helping Sydney Anglicans share stories that inform,encourageand inspire people across our churches and communities.

Key responsibilities

- In consultation with others, develop and implement a Diocese-wide media and communications strategy.
- Lead,mentorand develop a high-performing media and communications team.
- Strengthen the Diocese's public profile and reputation through effective communications and public relations.
- Partner with the Archbishop's Office and key diocesan leaders on communications initiatives.
- Lead social media strategy, audienceengagementand digital growth.
- Manage budgets, resources,suppliersand external agencies effectively.




- Foster collaboration with communications teams across the wider Diocese.

About you

You are an experienced communications professional and people leader who combines strategic thinking with a passion for storytelling and mission.

You will bring:

- Significant leadership experience in media, communications, public relations,journalismor a related field.
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing organisation-wide communications strategies.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of digital media, social mediaplatformsand content strategy.
- Experience using data and analytics to optimise communications outcomes.
- Proven ability to engage, influence and build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Exceptional written,verbaland interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets,vendorsand external service providers.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, publicrelationsor a related discipline.
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, the Anglican Church Diocese of Sydney.
