About the Role

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Grade 2 to join our Special Care Nursery team at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital. This role will suit someone who is committed to providing evidence-based, family-centredneonatal nursing care,demonstratesstrong clinical judgement and collaboration, and contributes to safe, high-quality outcomes for newborn infants and their families through clinical leadership,advocacyand continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you:

Provide high-quality, evidence-based, family-centrednursing care to neonates requiringspecial care,recognisingand respecting the dignity, culture, values and individual needs of infants and their families.

Independently assess, plan, implement,evaluateand document care,monitor forclinical deterioration,initiateappropriate responses, and expedite concerns to ensure the safety and wellbeing of neonates.





Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, parents,familiesand external service providers to support safe care transitions, informed decision-making, dischargeplanningand referral pathways.

Contribute to a culture of professional excellence through clinical leadership, mentoring, preceptorship, ongoing professional development, quality improvement activities, researchparticipationand adherence to clinical practice guidelines.

Promote safe, high-quality care bymaintainingprofessional standards, managing clinical risk, supporting continuous improvement initiatives,complying withNational Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, and acting as an advocate for neonates,familiesand the nursing profession.

About You

You are a compassionate,skilledand adaptable Registered Nurse who is committed to providing safe, evidence-based, woman-centredcare. Youdemonstratestrong clinical judgement, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a commitment to continuous learning, qualityimprovementand professional excellence.

You will bring:

Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

Proven ability to provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates requiringspecial care, including assessment, care planning, clinical monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and emergency response within scope of practice.

Strong interpersonal,communicationand relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, resolve conflict, influenceoutcomesandestablishpositive partnerships with parents,familiesand multidisciplinary teams.





A demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, family-centred care, safety, professional accountability, and respect for diversity and inclusion.

The flexibility to work across a rotating roster and maintain all required employment screening, immunisation, mandatory education and professional development requirements.
