Contract till 30th June 2026 with 3 X more 6 month extensions

We're seeking an experienced Lead Technical Officer to join the Fleet Information Environment (FIE) Modernisation Project , delivering secure, integrated ICT systems (Minerva) for the Royal Australian Navy.

As part of a high-impact Defence initiative, you’ll lead a support team managing complex, mission-critical systems across deployed and operational environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead advanced technical support in Defence ICT environments
- Manage messaging infrastructure, network security, and virtualised systems
- Ensure compliance with Defence security standards & patching plans
- Provide escalation support, training, and mentoring to technical staff
- Liaise with vendors and manage high-priority incidents





Required Skills & Experience:

- Highly developed knowledge of:
- Microsoft Exchange Administration Processes
- Microsoft Active Directory Administration
- Microsoft Skype Administration
- Citrix Virtual Desktop Administration
- Hypervisor Maintenance and Administration
- Experienced with:
- XMPP chat tools
- VoIP
- Experience with ITIL, team leadership, and Defence environments
- Bonus: Experience with Minerva systems and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes)

Requirements:

- $900/day contract
- NV2 Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- ITAR compliance required
- Must be available in office with DSN access (no remote work)
- On-call participation may be required
