Temporary Medical Records Officer Needed on a 3-month contract with possibility of extension
Your new company Our State Government client is seeking an experienced Medical Records Officer to join a busy healthcare service environment, providing essential administrative and records management support to clinical teams on an initial 3-month contract.
This role is well suited to candidates with previous experience in health records, patient administration, medical reception, or healthcare clerical support who enjoy working in a fast-paced and service-focused environment.
Your new role
Coordinate daily medical records activities to support efficient service delivery.Create, maintain, transfer, archive, and retrieve patient records in line with records management standards.Monitor data quality and accuracy within electronic patient management systems.Maintain appointment bookings, registrations, and attendance records.Produce reports using databases and Microsoft Excel.Provide reception support, including answering enquiries and managing incoming calls.Assist with meeting coordination, preparation of documentation, minute taking, and correspondence.Support and guide junior administrative staff with workload coordination and training.Maintain stationery, office supplies,
and general administrative resources.Contribute to continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience within a medical records, patient administration, health information, or healthcare administration environment.
Strong understanding of records management practices and confidentiality requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate workloads in a busy environment.
Experience using patient management systems, electronic records databases, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Robust attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
