ROC Communications is a leading telecommunications and civil infrastructure contractor delivering projects across Australia. We're looking for an experienced Driller / Team Leader to join our growing team and play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects.

About the Role
You will be responsible for leading directional drilling crews in the delivery of telecommunications and civil infrastructure projects. This role ensures works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading and supervising field crews on drilling and civil construction projects
Operating directional drilling equipment and tracking systems
Coordinating hauling, trenching, cable installation, pit and pipe works
Operating plant and equipment including excavators and associated machinery
Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification
Conducting daily pre-starts and equipment inspections
Liaising with Project Managers, clients and other stakeholders on site
Mentoring team members and promoting a strong safety culture
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in directional drilling and civil construction, including carrier/Tier 1 telecommunications and/or civil infrastructure projects
Hands-on experience operating Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch drilling rigs
Previous experience leading and mentoring field crews
Robust understanding of telecommunications and underground utility construction
Ability to read plans and work to project specifications
Strong safety focus and knowledge of SWMS and site compliance requirements
Excavator operating experience
HR or MR Truck Licence (HC highly regarded)
Relevant industry tickets and competencies
Flexibility to work diverse shifts, including night works (with notice)
