National Specification Manager | Technical Building Systems
Our client is a family-owned Australian manufacturer with more than 55 years in the market. They produce high-performance technical finishing systems for architectural applications, specified into major commercial, infrastructure and multi-residential projects nationally. Recent shifts in the competitive landscape have opened genuine growth prospects and the business is moving from reactive to proactive market development.
The Role
This is a newly created national position and the first dedicated specification hire in the business. You will build the function from the ground up. Day-to-day you are engaging tier 1 to 3 architects, facade engineers, contractors and project stakeholders to drive specification of a premium technical product into high-rise, facade, infrastructure and one-off architectural projects. You will help shape collateral, market education and the role itself as it grows. Reporting directly to the leadership team of a flat,
values-driven business. Office-based product immersion initially, moving to hybrid once you are up to speed.
Who We're Looking For
We're open to candidates from a few different backgrounds:
Specification sales experience in building products, working with architects, facade engineers or contractors
Commercial sales or BDM experience in aluminium windows, facades or the building envelope, looking to move spec-side
Technical background in coatings or building systems with the commercial instinct to influence projects early
Highly regarded: experience with protective coatings or coating systems, aluminium windows and facades, or architectural surface finishing.
The key is understanding how projects get specified and won. Whether you've driven the spec yourself or sold the systems behind it.
