Trailer Repairs / Mechanic General Maintenance

Shamick Transport is seeking a reliable and motivated team member to join our heavy haulage workshop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a rapid-paced transport environment.

About the Role

In this position, you will be responsible for supporting the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy haulage equipment, including:

Carrying out trailer repairs and general mechanical maintenance

Assisting with servicing, inspections, and repairs of transport equipment

Supporting fabrication, welding, and modification tasks as required

Completing general workshop duties and working alongside experienced mechanics

Maintaining and organising tools, equipment, and work areas

Helping ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and ready for operation

What We’re Looking For

Basic mechanical knowledge and a willingness to learn

Experience or interest in trailer repairs, mechanical maintenance, fabrication, or welding

Strong attention to detail and a practical approach to problem-solving





Ability to work safely and follow workshop procedures

Reliable, punctual, and team-focused attitude

Willingness to take on a variety of tasks and assist where required

Previous heavy transport, mechanical, or fabrication experience is an advantage but not essential
