HB Group is currently recruiting on behalf of a State Government organisation for multiple Field Assistant positions to join the National Fire Ant Eradication Program, based at the Virginia Depot, commencing Friday, 28th August 2026.

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday (76-hour fortnight)
Start Time: Between 6:30 am and 7:00 am
Finish Time: Approximately 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm

About the Role

As a Field Assistant, you will play an important role in the surveillance, treatment and eradication of Fire Ants throughout the Virginia region.
Working as part of a dedicated field team, you will travel to various locations each day to conduct inspections, apply treatments, and accurately record information using mobile technology.

Key Responsibilities
Drive to site locations (up to one hour from the depot)
Conduct visual surveillance and bait treatments
Collect accurate field data using a tablet
Complete daily reports and maintain accurate records
Work safely and effectively in a range of outdoor environments
