On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for a Deputy Project Manager who has prior experience gained in the Defence Maritime space.
The role is being offered as a long-term day rate contract role and will be based from client's site in Adelaide.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures.
Coordinate project workforce planning and delivery timelines, tracking task performance and resolving delivery blockers.
Support governance reporting, including weekly status reports, financial updates, and milestone tracking.
Maintain project registers (risks, issues, actions), support risk mitigation planning, and track progress to resolution.
Assist in planning alignment activities with cross-functional teams.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience supporting Defence or large infrastructure programs in a PMO or project support capacity.
Skilled in MS Project, Excel, and relevant project reporting tools.
Solid organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
Prior experience with sustainment or shipyard settings is highly desirable.
Due to the nature of the work candidates must have NV1 or above clearance.
