You will also contribute to the design and development of high‐quality educational resources and establish and maintain effective partnerships with industry and key stakeholders.This role suits an experienced vocational education and training professional who is committed to learner‐centred teaching and supporting high‐quality program delivery.What You'll DoPlan, prepare, teach and assess learning activities that meet learner needsEstablish and maintain safe, inclusive learning environments using diverse teaching methodsSupport student participation,



learning plans and reasonable adjustments to meet individual learner needsProvide student support, including educational pastoral care, consultation and referral to appropriate support servicesDevelop and maintain high‐quality teaching, assessment materials, curriculum content and educational resourcesMaintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and assessment in line with Melbourne Polytechnic policiesParticipate in validation and moderation and maintain compliance documentation in accordance with regulatory, organisational and audit requirementsEstablish and maintain networks with industry, relevant VET bodies and other stakeholdersParticipate in professional development to maintain educational and vocational currencyActively contribute to team-based program delivery and the achievement of departmental objectivesWhat You'll BringAppropriate vocational competency and/or qualifications together with relevant, recent and current industry knowledge, skills and experienceDemonstrated understanding of learning principles and teaching methodologies, with a high standard of teaching practice and commitment to learner‐centred teachingWell‐developed teaching skills, including the ability to use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to diverse student needsAbility to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines and work productively both independently and within a teamHigh-level interpersonal skills and a professional approach, together with excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to network, explore and develop partnerships to increase student engagement and opportunities during and post studiesExcellent ICT skills to produce work for learners,



assist with e‐learning and report across a range of programsDemonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti‐Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous ImprovementDesirableExperience teaching or assessing in a VET environmentExperience working with diverse learner cohortsKnowledge of current issues in vocational education and training, particularly as they relate to the areas taught within the DepartmentQualifications & Mandatory ChecksAppointment to this position is subject to meeting the qualification requirements (where applicable) and the successful completion of all mandatory employment checks.Teaching QualificationsTo be considered for this role, you must meet the qualification requirements under the Victorian TAFE Teaching Staff Agreement **** and relevant regulatory standards.You Will HaveRelevant qualifications in your discipline areaRecent and relevant industry and/or teaching experienceIn Addition, Depending On The RoleVocational Education and Training (VET) roles:Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE***** or equivalent), or a diploma or higher qualification in adult or vocational educationNon‐Vocational Education roles (e.g. EAL, AMEP, SEE, Foundation, VCE): A recognised teaching qualification appropriate to the program (e.g. postgraduate TESOL or equivalent), and demonstrated teaching capability through relevant experienceApplicants who can demonstrate equivalent teaching capability through a combination of qualifications and experience may also be considered.Mandatory ChecksA valid Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee)A National Police CheckDiversity and InclusionMelbourne Polytechnic is an equal chance and child‐safe employer.
