We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop / Fabrication Supervisor to lead our fabrication workshop and yard operations in Port Hedland.
This is a key leadership role where you will drive daily workshop execution, maintain the highest standards of safety and quality, and play a critical part in delivering successful projects for our clients in the resources and industrial sectors.If you're a solid leader with solid fabrication and workshop management experience, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine commitment to safety and quality along with being a strong team player— this is an outstanding opportunity to take the next step in your career.Key Responsibilities - Leadership & OperationsLead and supervise workshop fabrication teams, tradespeople, leading hands, and apprenticesOrganise, plan, and track workshop schedules to ensure timely project deliveryManage day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshops and yardOversee job cost control, conduct weekly WIP reviews, and support estimators with procurementWork closely with the estimating team to deliver timely and accurate client quotationsAttend job kick-off meetings for medium to major projectsTrack and achieve production targets while maintaining high quality standardsManage design aspects of projects in collaboration with draftsmen and engineersReview client requirements and drawings to ensure all QA deliverables are metEnsure full compliance with OH&S; legislation and company safety proceduresProactively identify, address,



and report unsafe behavioursWork closely with the HSE Advisor to drive a strong safety cultureLead and participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and trainingConduct quality inspections and support the QA/QC OfficerEnsure all fabricated deliverables meet client specifications, codes, and standardsAssist in developing project-specific Quality Management PlansDrive completion of quality documentation (ITPs, Work Packs, MDRs, Inspection Checklists, etc.)Create and manage non-conformance reports where requiredAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will bring:Proven experience as a Workshop Supervisor, Fabrication Supervisor, or similar leadership role in a workshop environmentStrong background in structural steel, mechanical fabrication, or heavy industrial manufacturingStrong understanding of engineering, drafting, designExcellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to coach and develop teamsSolid understanding of workshop processes, scheduling, and cost controlGood working knowledge of quality management systems and documentationSound understanding of Australian OH&S; legislation and standardsStrong communication and organisational skillsRelevant trade qualifications (Cert III Fabrication, Boilermaking, or equivalent) highly regardedMechanical Engineering or similar (Preferred)Current WA Driver's Licence (essential)What We OfferCompetitive salary package (commensurate with experience)$80 p/h plus AllowanceOpportunity to work on diverse and challenging projectsSupportive management team with a strong focus on safety and qualityLong-term career development opportunitiesFull equipped workshop facilities and equipment
