Job Description
Join our team as a Coal Technician and play a key role in delivering high-quality sampling, preparation, and analysis services for both internal and external customers.
This is a great opportunity to secure a permanent, full-time position with an 12 hour roster, offering stability and hands-on experience in a dynamic laboratory setting.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct accurate and timely sampling, preparation, and analysis of samples
Follow approved procedures across sampling, recording, preparation, analysis, storage, and reporting
Ensure accuracy, precision, and traceability of all samples
Assist with calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory and preparation equipment
Follow both routine and non-routine sampling instructions from the Supervisor
Support general laboratory operations and other duties as required
Qualifications
About You
We provide full training and on-the-job development, however you will ideally bring:
6–12 months experience in a laboratory or chemical processing environment




Previous experience in a mineral or coal laboratory (preferred)
Coal sampling, preparation, or testing experience (advantageous)
Basic computer skills (Excel beneficial)
A valid driver's licence and reliable transport
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work 12-hour rotating rosters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
