Head of Programming & Engagement
The City of Newcastle (CN) invites an experienced and passionate individual to lead the Museum Archive Libraries & Learning (MALL) service unit.
The role will plan and execute strategic vision, direction and future of Newcastle's Museum and Libraries, while contributing to the cultural direction of the city.
Responsibilities
Plan and deliver community‐activating programmes and online engagement designed for diverse visitors, members and the wider city.
Lead the activation, engagement and reputation of the MALL service unit within the senior leadership team.
Manage two direct reports (Program Lead and Engagement Coordinator) and a team of 13 programmers and engagers.
Ensure staff development, engagement and accountability to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
Set and maintain high standards of inclusive, diverse and high‐quality programming, events and digital engagement that showcase national‐level museum and library leadership.
Qualifications
Demonstrated industry experience in programme development and engagement.
Strong leadership and team‐management skills.
Passion for cultural service and community engagement.
Ability to coordinate a high‐profile unit within a senior leadership team.
