This role involves performing a range of routine tasks associated with the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of fruit crops.
The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high-quality produce and productive farm operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Patrol, inspect, and report on the condition of crops to ensure optimal growth and early identification of issuesPlant trees, seeds, seedlings, roots, bulbs, tubers, and vines using hand tools and farm machineryPrepare and cultivate soil, and carry out crop maintenance activities such as thinning, weeding, hoeing, pruning, and training of plantsApply pesticides and other treatments to control weeds, pests, and diseases in accordance with safety guidelinesOperate and monitor irrigation systems to ensure adequate water supply for cropsInstall and maintain plant supports such as trellises, and protective structures including netting, greenhouses, and fencingHarvest produce including fruit, nuts,



and vegetables according to quality standards, removing damaged or overripe itemsSort, grade, bunch, pack, and prepare produce for storage or transportLoad harvested produce into transport vehicles safely and efficientlyMaintain cleanliness and functionality of farm infrastructure, including sheds, fences, and irrigation systemsOperate and maintain general farm machinery used for cultivation, fertilising, spraying, and harvestingUse data collection tools and farm technology systems to support farm operationsSkills and Experience:Previous experience in fruit farming or horticulture (preferred but not essential)Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environmentsBasic understanding of crop care, irrigation, and pest control practicesAbility to operate farm machinery and tools safelyStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsGood teamwork and communication skillsThis role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires physical labour, including lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks.
