Our manufacturing facility located in Morley, WA has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Engineering department.
This is a full-time role on a family friendly roster - only work 13 days out of a 28-day shift cycle.
You'll be working 12-hour shifts, consisting of 3 nights shifts and 3 day shifts on a rotating basis.
Rate of Pay:
The role is paid hourly under the applicable Award/Agreement, with overtime and penalties applying where eligible.
Estimated annual earnings are approximately $117,800 to $136,000 plus superannuation, depending on overtime worked, roster pattern and applicable penalties.
About the role:
This position involves a variety of duties, including fault finding for the production and packaging plants, troubleshooting daily repairs, and participating in preventative maintenance to keep our production lines operating efficiently including:
Repairs and maintenance of bakery equipment, ovens, wrapping machines, weight and metal detection systems.
Fault finding on general site services, plant and equipment.
Maintaining and compiling records on a CMMS system.
Liaising with the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Supervisors on preventative, reactive and troubleshooting maintenance.
Liaising with our QA and OHS teams on maintenance requirements.
About you:




To be successful in the role, you will need:
Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, such as Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, or equivalent (essential)
EWP, high-risk, working at heights or forklift ticket
Current Manual Driver's License
Extensive experience in a similar role within a energetic, high volume food manufacturing and/or FMCG industry
Ability to inspect equipment and identify worn, out-of-spec, or abnormal parts
Proficient in minor fabrication and mechanical repairs
Able to read and interpret mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and drawings
Skilled in replacing mechanical components including bearings, shafts, seals, and bushes
Strong mechanical aptitude with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams
