Job DescriptionAn exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join a dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health team based in the vibrant tropical city of Darwin.
Operating within a modern, well-equipped outpatient facility, the incoming clinician will provide vital specialist reviews and interventions for children, adolescents, and their families.
The service boasts a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team environment where the consultant works alongside skilled registrars, specialized mental health nurses, and a dedicated administrative support team.
This cooperative infrastructure is further bolstered by structured Chronic Disease Management (CDM) pathways, ensuring seamless continuity of care and allowing the psychiatrist to focus primarily on high-level clinical delivery.
This position offers an ideal balance of clinical autonomy and robust operational framework.
The successful candidate will enjoy a flexible Monday-to-Friday roster spanning 08:00 to 16:30, leaving weekends and public holidays entirely free to explore the incredible lifestyle benefits of the Top

Beyond direct clinical care, the role presents unique special interest opportunities in transcultural psychiatry and indigenous youth mental health,



alongside fulfilling supervisor opportunities.
Because applicants must be a Royal Australian and
New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) accredited supervisor, they will play a pivotal role in mentoring the next generation of practitioners.

Financially and logistically, the placement is highly rewarding.
The position commands a premium locum rate of $2,500 plus GST per day, paid accurately via submitted weekly timesheets for rostered days.
The assignment spans from September 9, ****, through to January 11, ****, making it a perfect spring and summer block in the Territory.
A comprehensive travel package is provided to ensure a smooth transition, including one return economy airfare, airport taxi transfers, and an NTG fleet vehicle (or an $80 plus GST daily car hire allowance if a fleet vehicle is unavailable).
High-quality accommodation is also heavily subsidized with a generous capped allowance of $230 plus GST per night.
