Practice Manager – GP / Skin ClinicAbout UsWe are a modern GP and Skin Clinic focused on delivering high-quality care in a professional, patient-centered environment.About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and proactive Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our General Practice and Skin Clinic.
This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the clinic runs efficiently, patients receive outstanding care, and clinical and administrative teams are well supported.
The ideal candidate combines solid healthcare operations experience with excellent people leadership and a hands‐on approach to problem-solving.You will manage the clinic's daily operations autonomously, with the support of a higher management team for escalation of significant operational, financial, or clinical governance matters.What You'll Be DoingKeeping the Wheels Turning (Operations)Oversee daily clinic operations across both GP and skin/dermatology servicesManage patient flow, appointment scheduling, and clinic room utilisationEnsure compliance with health regulations, accreditation standards (e.g. RACGP standards), and workplace health and safety requirementsMaintain and improve clinical and administrative policies, procedures, and systemsLeading the TeamRecruit, onboard, roster, and manage reception, nursing, and administrative staffSupport GPs and allied health practitioners with operational needsConduct performance reviews, staff training, and professional development planningFoster a positive, patient-centered team cultureFinancial & Business AdministrationManage clinic budgets, billing (including Medicare, private billing, and skin check/procedure billing), and reconciliationInvestigate and resolve Medicare billing issues, rejections, and discrepanciesMonitor KPIs such as patient volumes, revenue, wait times, and no-show ratesLiaise with accountants, suppliers, and external service providersSupport pricing strategy for cosmetic and non-Medicare-funded servicesLooking After Our PatientsHandle patient complaints, feedback,



and escalations professionally, escalating significant or unresolved issues to the senior/higher management team as requiredEnsure high standards of customer service across reception and clinical touchpointsOversee patient communications, recalls, and reminder systems (e.g. skin check follow-ups)Staying on Top of Compliance & RiskMaintain clinical governance standards, infection control, and consent procedures (particularly relevant to skin procedures/biopsies)Manage medical indemnity, insurance, and incident reporting processesKeep up to date with AHPRA, Medicare, and privacy legislation requirementsSystems & ITManage practice management software (Best Practice)Oversee IT systems, telehealth platforms, and patient record managementIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency through technologyWhat You'll BringPrevious experience managing a General Practice is essential, with skin clinic experience highly regardedProficiency with Best Practice software is requiredStrong understanding of Medicare billing and private billing.Experience resolving Medicare billing issues and discrepancies is highly valuedPayroll experience is highly sought afterExperience managing multidisciplinary clinical teamsExcellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skillsSound financial acumen and budget management experienceWorking knowledge of general IT systemsUnderstanding of AHPRA, RACGP standards, and healthcare privacy legislationRelevant qualifications in practice management, healthcare administration, business, or nursing (highly regarded but not essential with sufficient experience)Bonus Points ForExperience working in a clinic that hosts AGPT or FSP (Fellowship Support Program) GP registrars is looked upon favorablyExperience with skin cancer clinic workflows (e.g. mole mapping, biopsy scheduling, pathology liaison)Familiarity with cosmetic/aesthetic service administrationExperience with clinic accreditation processesWhy You'll Love It HereCompetitive salary based on experienceSupportive, collaborative team environmentOpportunities for professional development
