MV Law, a leading property and commercial law firm in Canberra, is seeking a 2-4 PQE Lawyer to join our growing litigation and disputes practice.
In this role, you will assist our clients with commercial, property and planning disputes.This position offers an excellent opportunity to accelerate your career in an established practice, working with exceptional clients on interesting and challenging matters, while being supported by a highly collaborative and approachable team.If successful, your responsibilities will include:Management of your own files with support and supervisionCommunicating directly with clients and relevant stakeholdersConducting legal research and providing strategic advice on complex legal issuesDrafting correspondence, court documents and other litigation-related documentsGathering, analysing and organising evidencePreparing for and attending court appearances, mediations and hearingsParticipating in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processesAssisting clients to resolve disputes in a practical, commercially focused mannerSkills & ExperienceTo be successful, the candidate would ideally have relevant experience in private practice and be able to demonstrate:2-4 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation,
dispute resolution or a related area of practiceStrong research, analytical and drafting skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organisation skillsAbility to build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client serviceSound commercial judgement and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamA professional, proactive and positive approach to workThe ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in dealing with sensitive matter.Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right attitude and drive.
