About the Centre
Benalla Aquatic Centre is proudly run by the YMCA on behalf of the Benalla Rural City Council.
The Centre has 4 large pools including a 25m Pool, Program Pool, Toddler Pool (with a slide) and 50m Outdoor Swimming Pool.
We also have a Gym and Group Fitness studio in which offers a wide range of equipment for all patrons and staff to enjoy.
About the Role
As a Lifeguard, you'll help provide a safe swimming environment for all centre visitors.
You'll be patient, focused and friendly to keep pool-users informed and safe.
Duties of the role include:
Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool areaMaintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problemsEnsuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practicesCarrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment
This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $***** + Super.
About You
We are seeking motivated, organised and pro-active Lifeguards to come and join the team.
The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and all facility users.
Other required qualities are:
Ability to make decisions while under pressureBeing able to manage conflicts with patrons and usersAbility to stay alert and vigilant in a repetitive work environmentAbility to multitaskProviding excellent customer service for all members and guestsExperience in the Aquatics and Leisure industry will be highly regarded
Essential Qualifications
Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary ResuscitationHLTAID011 Provide First Aid
