Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking to work on diverse and technically challenging industrial projects?
QA Electrical Industrial Services delivers industrial electrical solutions across Australia, including electrical installations, switchboard and MCC manufacturing, automation systems, fault finding, preventative maintenance and project delivery services.
We're seeking a motivated and detail-focused Electrical Estimator to join our Ballarat-based team, supporting projects across industries including agriculture, water, manufacturing, mining and commercial facilities.
This is an chance to be involved in projects from the tender stage through to delivery, working closely with project managers, electricians, engineers and suppliers to develop accurate, commercially sound estimates that contribute to successful project outcomes.
The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing detailed cost estimates, assessing project risks and supporting procurement planning for industrial electrical projects.
You'll have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects including switchboards, motor control systems, automation solutions, electrical installations and industrial upgrades.
This role suits someone who understands both the technical and practical aspects of electrical projects and enjoys turning complex scopes into accurate, well-structured estimates.
Key Responsibilities
Complete quantity take-offs and develop labour and material costings using existing well-developed estimating processes.
Review tender documentation, drawings and specifications.
Identify project risks, assumptions and exclusions.
Price variations, scope changes and additional works.
Assist in preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation.




Procurement & Project Support
Identify long-lead and critical materials during the estimating phase.
Liaise with suppliers to obtain pricing, quotations and availability information.
Support procurement planning and project handovers.
Work closely with our project delivery team to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases and pricing tools.
Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy and consistency.
Contribute to developing efficient estimating and procurement processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
Experience estimating electrical projects, preferably within industrial environments.
Strong understanding of electrical installations, equipment and project delivery.
Advanced Excel and spreadsheet skills.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability.
A structured and methodical approach to work.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Ability to obtain a Police Check & Working with Children's Check.
Highly Regarded
Electrical trade background.
Experience within agriculture, food processing, manufacturing or industrial facilities.
Exposure to switchboards, MCCs, automation or control systems.
Experience with engineered or custom-built projects.
Knowledge of procurement planning and supplier engagement.
