Our Team
Fitzroy North College is a small, calm and inclusive learning space designed for young people who haven't felt supported in traditional school settings.
Many experience school-related anxiety, neurodivergence or mental health challenges.
Staff co-create a predictable, welcoming environment that supports confidence and connection.
The Role
The Program Director - Teaching and Learning (Senior Stream)



provides leadership across teaching, learning and student engagement, working closely with the Campus Principal and school leadership team to deliver high-quality educational outcomes.
From ****, this role will play a key part in establishing Fitzroy North College's inaugural Year 11 VCE VM and VPC programs, creating meaningful senior pathways that support young people to remain engaged in learning and successfully transition into Year 12 and beyond.
This position includes:
Planning, preparation and delivery of effective onsitelearning,teachingand wellbeing programs for young people in secondary education;
Establish the first Year 11 program in ****, and shape how it grows into Year 12
Build learning that is practical, applied and connected to real situations
Lead and support teachers and education support staff to deliver engaging, integrated learning programs.
Oversee VET, workplace learning and pathway planning to support meaningful student outcomes.
Establish clear and effective processes for assessment, progress tracking and teaching practice.
Contributing to the development and implementation of the school'sobjectivesand planning;
Model innovative teaching practices in both the bestinterestof young people and for the benefit of the professional development of the team.
You will be employed on anongoingbasis,commencing as soon as possible and will be employed under theCatholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement ****.
This position is classified as an ongoing Teacher role, with a salary range of $79,589 to $118,063 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience), plus a POL 4 allowance of $13,018 per annum for a fixed term of five years.
You will need
Ability to commit to and work within our Operating Principles; Respect, Participation, Safe and Legal and Honesty
Tertiary qualifications in Education
3 years' experience in a similar role
Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
Well-developed understanding of the developmental needs of young people from a disadvantaged or disengaged perspective.
Excellent time management andorganisationalskills and the ability to work to deadlines.
Experience and confidence when engaging with parents,



and competent in managing complex situations.
Strong knowledge of and a commitment to best practice delivery of curriculum
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
Resilient and able to develop resilience in others witha high levelof emotional intelligence.
Demonstrated leadership experience in staff support,developmentand professional supervision within collaborative multidisciplinary team settings.
This should include experience infacilitatingreflective practice sessions for staff and critical incident debriefs for staff.
Collaborative team player with the ability to build quality working relationships.
A commitment to ongoing professional learning for self and others to enable further development of skills,expertiseand teaching capacity.
Ability and willingness to travel to school sites and attend professional development asrequired.
Strong Interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with a range of people
Experience in supporting young people with disability and/or neurodivergence
The ability to inspire and engage young people with learning activities
Be willing to support young people and our team members to reach their potential
