About the Opportunity:
A leading higher education institution is launching a Curriculum Quality and Sustainability (CQS) analytics tool in January ****.
They're seeking a Power BI Specialist to own the delivery from data pipelines and modelling through to dashboards and stakeholder handover.
This is a high-impact, autonomous role that sits at the intersection of project delivery and operational support.
You'll work across the full analytics stack and partner with three distinct teams - the CQS project team, the Planning & Analytics BAU team (faculty-facing) and data engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and build ETL pipelines using Power Query, M language and SQL
Architect data models to support complex, multi-stakeholder reporting
Create intuitive, decision-ready dashboards and reports
Translate faculty and leadership requirements into technical specifications
Train and hand over to the BAU team post-launch
Coordinate with data engineering on schema, governance and technical debt
Must-Haves:
Advanced Power BI capability across data modelling, ETL, and front-end design
Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehousing concepts
Proven ability to engage confidently with non-technical stakeholders
Delivery track record on analytics or BI projects
Autonomous working style - comfortable balancing competing priorities
Nice-to-Haves:
Experience in higher education or student data systems
PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst certification
Python or R for data pre-processing

Engagement:12 month contract
Rate:$900 - $1,200/day +Super
Location:Sydney, hybrid, 2 - 3 days onsite
Start:ASAP
