Overview
An Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced APS6 Senior Policy Officer to support the implementation of significant policy reforms that improve outcomes for Australians.
Working within a high-performing policy team, you will contribute to the delivery of complex government initiatives, translate policy into practical implementation strategies and engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful policy outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced policy professional with strong Commonwealth Government experience who enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and delivery of significant Government policy initiatives.
Contribute to the planning, coordination and delivery of complex policy reform projects.
Prepare high-quality advice and briefing material for senior executives on policy implementation, risks and reform priorities.
Engage and negotiate with stakeholders across government and external organisations to support successful policy delivery.
Coordinate consultation activities and incorporate stakeholder feedback into policy implementation.
Monitor project progress and contribute to achieving key deliverables within agreed timeframes.
Support governance processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience/requirements
Demonstrated experience implementing significant Government policy initiatives, reforms or strategic priorities.
Strong understanding of Commonwealth Government policy, governance and decision-making processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality policy advice and briefing material.
Proven stakeholder engagement and consultation skills across a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Robust organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience within Commonwealth health policy and/or program environments will be highly regarded.
Baseline security clearance is essential.
