Guide Dogs Victoria is seeking a passionate and skilled professional to join our expanding Guide Dog Services team in Victoria, Australia.

About The Role
As a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor, you will work directly with clients who are blind or have low vision to deliver high-quality Guide Dog mobility services and training programs.
You will play a key role in supporting clients to achieve greater independence, confidence, and community participation.
The Role Involves
Delivering Guide Dog mobility instruction to clients across Victoria
Assessing client suitability and matching Guide Dogs to client needs
Assessing, training,
and developing Guide Dogs to meet high operational and welfare standards
Supporting the preparation and development of dogs through all stages of training
Supporting client outcomes through ongoing training and follow-up services
Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
Contributing to the ongoing development and growth of Guide Dog and Assistance Dog programs
About You
Hold a recognised IGDF qualification as a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor
Have experience in the assessment and training of Guide Dogs
Demonstrate strong observational, handling, and instructional skills
Have a strong commitment to client-centred service delivery
Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be adaptable, collaborative, and passionate about achieving positive outcomes for clients
Hold or be eligible to obtain relevant Australian working rights and clearances
Whilst not essential, experience in delivering Assistance Dog programs or broader Assistance Dog services would be highly regarded.
