Position Overview
The Testing Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, accuracy and compliance of our SaaS payroll and workforce management software.
Working within the Technical Services team, this role is responsible for executing structured tests and documenting results to maintain our high standards of product integrity.
The successful candidate will leverage modern automation tools to improve testing efficiency and consistency while ensuring software remains aligned with complex payroll legislation and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the software development team to walk through test scripts and analyse software changes to ensure full coverage.
Independently execute test cases against new and modified system functionality, with a specific focus on payroll compliance, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Utilise Tricentis Testim to implement and maintain automated regression suites across web and API flows to reduce manual effort and increase release velocity.
Identify, investigate and document anomalies or defects in a clear, reproducible manner.
Liaise with Test Lead, Developers and the Product Manager to resolve issues and verify resolutions, providing final sign-off prior to customer release.
Ensure test documentation is complete,
accurate and traceable to meet internal quality standards.
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in software testing within a SaaS or complex application environment.
Demonstrated experience in quality assurance processes, including defect tracking and documentation.
High level of accuracy, analytical thinking and a meticulous eye for detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to proactively work autonomously and manage testing tasks within tight release cycles.
Proficiency with Tricentis Testim or similar low-code automation tools for web and API testing.
Strong knowledge of Australian and/or New Zealand payroll legislation, awards and complex payroll calculations.
Familiarity with CI/CD integration and automated regression testing practices.
