We are seeking a Research Assistant to support our legal team in a role that provides hands-on experience, close mentoring from senior practitioners, and an excellent foundation for your legal career.
General legal or research experience is acceptable, as training will be provided in employment law.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal and factual research to support ongoing matters.
Take detailed client chronologies.
Prepare concise research memoranda and summaries for senior lawyers.
Assist with drafting correspondence and preliminary legal documents.
Review legislation, case law, and commentary relevant to employment disputes.
Prepare file notes, chronologies, and supporting materials for hearings and conciliations.
Liaise with clients to gather information under lawyer supervision.
Assist with general administrative and file management tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
A law degree (or current enrollment in a law degree).
Solid legal research, analytical, and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to follow instructions and manage competing deadlines.
Professionalism, discretion, and confidence when dealing with sensitive information.
A genuine interest in employment law and supporting clients experiencing workplace issues.
Ability to work autonomously within a team.
