Col Wilkie Body Works is seeking a motivated and dedicatedApprentice Panel Beaterto join our team inToowoomba, Queensland.
This is afull-time positionoffering an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the automotive trades industry.
As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced panel beaters, learning the technical aspects of vehicle body repair, restoration, and refinishing whilst earning a wage and gaining nationally recognised qualifications.
This role is essential to our operations, as you will contribute to delivering high-quality panel beating services to our valued customers.
Key responsibilities
Assisting experienced panel beaters in the assessment and repair of vehicle body damage
Learning and applying panel beating techniques including hammering, straightening, and reshaping damaged panels
Preparing vehicle surfaces through sanding, grinding, and cleaning prior to repairs and refinishing
Assisting with the removal and replacement of damaged vehicle body components
Supporting the application of fillers, primers, and paint under supervision
Maintaining a safe and clean workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
Using hand tools, power tools, and specialist panel beating equipment safely and correctly
Keeping accurate records of work completed and materials used
Attending training provider sessions as required by your apprenticeship
Contributing to a team workplace and seeking feedback to continually improve your skills
What we're looking for
Genuine passion for automotive work and the panel beating trade
Ability to work safely and follow health and safety procedures at all times
Willingness to learn new skills and take on feedback from experienced tradespeople
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team




Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
Physical fitness to perform manual labour involving standing, lifting, and repetitive movements
A valid driver's license is advantageous
No prior panel beating experience necessary – we welcome applicants with enthusiasm and commitment to training
