Country Cooked is seeking anEngineer – Mechanical, Electrical & Refrigeration Maintenanceto join our team on afull-time basis.
This is a critical position within our operations, responsible for maintaining and optimising the mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems that are essential to our food production and storage facilities.
You will play a vital role in ensuring our equipment operates at peak efficiency, minimising downtime and supporting our commitment to delivering quality products to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain, service and repair food processing and packaging machinery.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and automation faults.
Carry out refrigeration system maintenance and repairs across production equipment and cold storage areas.
Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise production downtime.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
Plan and schedule preventative maintenance activities.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers to coordinate maintenance services, repairs and equipment requirements.
Negotiate competitive pricing for maintenance materials, spare parts and consumables.
Manage external contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Maintain inventory of spare parts, consumables and maintenance tools, ensuring stock levels are adequate.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service history for all equipment.
Assist with the installation, commissioning and optimisation of new equipment.
Work closely with Production, QA and Operations to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce downtime and lower maintenance costs.




Travel between company sites as required to perform maintenance and repair work.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety and food safety standards.

Qualifications section:
Trade qualifications or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in mechanical, electrical and refrigeration maintenance within a food production or manufacturing environment
Knowledge of refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators and control systems
Competency in electrical systems troubleshooting and repair
Familiarity with preventative maintenance programmes and condition monitoring techniques
Solid problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics and equipment manuals
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel to site locations as required
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to health and safety compliance and best practices
Desirable: Experience with HVAC systems, PLC programming or industrial automation
Desirable: Relevant certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling or electrical trade licenses
