The Opportunity As a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, you will play a key role in delivering specialist women's healthcare services across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
You will work alongside experienced medical, nursing, midwifery, and allied health teams to provide safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care while supporting the ongoing growth of the service.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological services across inpatient, outpatient, antenatal, and procedural settings
Manage both routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological presentations
Deliver high-quality patient-centred care in accordance with best-practice clinical standards
Participate in consultant on-call and ward service rosters
Develop and implement treatment plans that support continuity of care and strong communication with community healthcare providers
Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, registrars, medical students, and multidisciplinary learners
Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives
Contribute to service planning, policy development, and future service expansion
Support education, teaching, and professional development activities across the organisation

About You
To be successful, you will possess:
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent recognised specialist qualification
Specialist Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
Demonstrated expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Consultant level
Commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based care
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Experience supervising and mentoring junior medical staff
Commitment to quality improvement, clinical governance, and continuous professional development
International Medical Graduates assessed as substantially comparable or eligible for specialist registration pathways are encouraged to apply.
